This spring the hubs and I took a short working vacation, or a “workcation”, to Portland, Oregon to attend the Cultivation Classic and explore all things green: vegan food, cannabis businesses and outdoor green space. It was my first visit to the city and I was excited to see if it was as funky and surreal as Portlandia made it seem. Yep, it really is. The Cultivation Classic was a fantastic event and all expectations were exceeded in regards to food, dispensaries and lush, green scenery.
So much green! Lovely change of scenery from LA. A long, leisurely stroll through the Hoyt Aboretum and lots of walking around Portland neighborhoods.
JAYNE dispensary. What cannabis retail should look like. From the casually elegant front entry area to the wide selection of edibles it’s worth a visit if you’re in the city.
Cultivation Classic held at Revolution Hall. Fabulous venue with outside and rooftop space, gorgeous theater, great bar and fun food. And no, on-site consumption was not allowed.
Small sampling of the phenomenal vegan eats. So many of vegan bakeries and baked goods which you don’t find in LA. We even had an all vegan afternoon tea. Such a treat!
New JAYNE pouch, me focused on the gift shop window before tea was served, insanely good edibles, Ladies of Paradise, Ladies of Paradise Goodies and Collage Annex, a gift shop that you ACTUALLY WANT TO GO INTO, one where your hubs won’t mind looking around and there are fun things to buy in a range of prices. I treated myself to a great Charlie & the Chocolate Factory puzzle.
